Music Video School

We at a music school are proud to provide interested students with our Film Institute of Technology (Film IT) program. Our six-month (30 credit hour) program is designed to help those interested in the creation of music videos and commercials learn and practice the skills required to do so. Film IT students gain valuable knowledge of both the creative and technical skills needed to successfully merge music and film.

Our Film IT program is all-inclusive and utilizes lectures and hands-on workshops designed to teach students directing techniques for various perspectives, including theory, casting, composition, acting and art direction. Also covered is the director’s role in the production of videos and commercials, as well in managing the production set. Through a hands-on approach, students learn the differences between music videos, commercials, and other forms of film production. Important elements like types of film and career skills such as pitching, budgeting, and setting up as an independent production business are covered as well.

Like all of our programs at a music school, our Film IT program seeks to give students working knowledge through actual practice. Students have an opportunity to see the production process on a step-by-step basis. In fact, as a perfect end to the program, each student participates in a final project designed to demonstrate the skills and knowledge acquired by creating an actual professional-level music video or commercial.
