The music synth has practically become an instrument in its own rite. Synth is a shortened term for synthesizer. Synths create sounds by producing electronic waveforms, or through the use of stored samples of sounds from various musical instruments. Robert Moog first made the synth popular in the 1960s. In fact, the tern “synthesizer” was coined after his musical gadgets, which led the way by combining traditional piano-style keyboards with innovative and flexible sound creation potential.
Music synths help musicians create and duplicate the most extraordinary levels of sound. They are instrumental in taking today’s music to incredible heights and help to ensure that tomorrow’s music is limited only by the bounds of the imagination.
At a music school, our students have the opportunity to learn everything from popular types of synthesizers to methods used in choosing one. Students learn to produce high-quality sounds, successful synth integration, synth leads and more. Essential synthesis concepts, software-based synthesis, and classic synths are covered as well.
